Cameroon - “Africa In Miniature”

Cameroon is a Sub-Saharan country located in the West and extends into the Central region of Africa. Cameroon is known as Africa in Miniature or Small Africa because Cameroon has most of Africa's diverse geographic landscapes. Cameroon exhibits a vast geographic and cultural diversity that spans from the coast, desert, mountains, rainforest, savanna terrains to its rich wildlife conservation. Cameroon has many natural resources such as oil and gas, minerals, timber, and agricultural products like coffee, cotton, cocoa, maize, and cassava.

Cameroon has the melting pot population characteristics with more than 240 tribes found in three main ethnic groups; the Bantus, the Semi-Bantus, and the Sudanese. While English and French are the official languages, Cameroon has over 240 tribal languages spoken across its national territory. Her rich linguistic characteristics continues to position Cameroon as having one of the most diverse cultures in Africa.

Adding to the country's profile as Africa in Miniature, in the international space, Cameroon has branded herself in Football as the first African country to reach the quarter-finals in FIFA World Cup 1990. With her iconic football legends like Roger Milla  and Samuel Eto’o, the Cameroon football team continues to be a reference in the Fédération Internationale de Football Association in countries around the world.

Cameroon has also branded herself in the culinary sector as having the most culinary varieties in the continent of Africa. With Ndole as her national dish with a savory taste on the palates of foreigners and diplomats as one of Cameroon's sought-after Cameroonian dish to charcoal-grilled fish, Achu, Mbongo Tchombi, Njama Njama, Ekwang to the finger-licking Water Fufu and Eru, Cameroon has an incomparable menu to offer. A package on a golden platter ready for serving to her visitors. Those who have received this golden platter can attest to the exquisite content. "No Wonda" in my Cameroonian Pidgin English Meiway, the music legend from Côte d'Ivoire after previously composed songs about Cameroon, was compelled to release a masterpiece "Tu Dis Que Quoi" to express his love for my beautiful country. Cameroon, the land of my birth, The Indomitable Lion of Africa.
